Mary Stork (1938-2007) studied at the West of England College of Art and then at the Slade. She moved to Cornwall in 1960 and lived in St. Just in Penwith. Mary became one the Westcountry's most successful and well-known artists, with regular exhibitions in London and provincial galleries. She concentrated on the human figure with influences from the drawings of Matisse and Modigliani. The drawings often have an Oriental simplicity and clear sculptural qualities.
About her own work she once said, "A good picture should continue to breathe and vibrate with energy
Very sadly Mary died in 2007. We are pleased to have some now rare limited edition prints which are framed and glazed and have very low edition numbers.
