Frank Bramley was well known for his interiors usually of fisherfolk. This picture deals with his interest in artificial and reflected light and in this composition, filtered light in particular. We think that the subject is Stanhope Forbes son, Alec and we are currently researching this.Frank Bramley was a close friend of Stanhope Forbes and his wife Elizabeth Forbes. It is a technical tour- de- force.
